EnergyTwo and Waves4Power Announce Strategic Venture to Combine Wave Power and Clean EV Charging Solutions to Power Homes, Businesses, and Communities
EnergyTwo, energytwo.com, an emerging clean technology leader in clean charging for clean vehicles and community-driven independence from grid vulnerability, and Waves4Power, waves4power.com, creator of the WaveEL system that turns waves into green electricity, today announced a strategic alliance to harness solar, wave power and energy storage to meet the increased demand for electrification and on-site, clean charging for clean electric machines.
The combined effort will result in renewable energy projects in some of the most pressing areas: Rural communities underserved by utilities where electric power is meeting just a fraction of basic energy needs; coastal communities; and small to large scale agriculture, a sector that accounts for 25% of global C02 emissions and rising fuel costs.
Jonas Kamf, president of Waves4Power said that our mission is “To generate a better future for our planet.” Göran Fredrikson co-founder of Waves4Power and chairman of the board continues: “Today one-third of the earth’s surface provide for most of the energy needs on an increasingly populated planet, while two-thirds of the earth’s surface, the oceans hold 990 times more energy in its waves than humanity needs. This clean power can help make up for the deficit in renewable energy generation. It is superior to oil derricks, less of an eyesore than offshore wind, and is placed in sections of the ocean that are out of sight of coastal homeowners, in the sweet spot of the biggest waves and depths that are largely outside of shipping lanes and fishing areas.”
“With climate change, we are afforded opportunities for innovation and leadership around common problems we face around the global energy transition from fossil fuels to renewables, the marked increase in EVs and digital electrification of the grid, we’re going to need everything under the sun to power modern lifestyle and sustainable businesses. This future will require three times the electric energy we produce today. We can begin to supply the world’s sustainable energy needs with solar, wind, waves and soon to be released hydrogen,” said David N. Benson, co-founder and general manager for E2. “It’s often overlooked that in many US states, EVs are charged with dirty power from the grid. E2 is changing that by providing on-site, clean energy production, storage and charging for clean machines,” added Benson.
The shared effort of this partnership is to have at least 5 commercial WaveEL buoy in-stallations operable worldwide at the end of 2025. Initial projects include UK, Norway, California, NZ, Alaska, and selected locations in South East Asia and West Africa.
SkipTek, skiptek.com, an E2 Ecosystem Partner, will offer flow battery technology for micro-grid to utility scale power to bring energy from sea to shore, business, and home, to round out solutions at the community level across the Western U.S., New Zealand, and Northern Europe.
Waves4Power joins a stable of renewable energy technology companies that form the E2 Partner Ecosystem. The system includes the most innovative and influential players in clean energy production, storage, charging, and EVs. Partners span a multitude of fleet partners for transportation, recreation, and commercial operations, scalable battery technology, smart inverters, municipal solutions, as well as agriculture machinery along with leasing and financial services.
About Waves4Power
Waves4Power is a Swedish company seeking to generate a better future and make a major contribution to prevent climate change. They will do it by harvesting the clean energy from ocean waves and convert it to electricity, without emitting harmful CO2. The energy in the waves is free for anyone to utilize and it has the potential to greatly reduce or even eliminate the need for power from fossil fuel. As an example, 1 % of the wave energy on USA’s west coast is enough to supply 1/3 of the country’s total electricity needs* (according to EPRI, Electric Power Research Institute USA).
Waves4Power is one of the leading Wave Power Developers in the world today. Even though the company is entering “a new world of power generation with every step they take” they know that the patented WaveEL system can outcompete and outperform electricity produced from power plants using fossil fuel. And when mass produced, cost of electricity from WaveEL will meet or beat grid parity. Together with other renewable power sources it will then form the future sustainable energy system for the world. Each WaveEL™ buoy can today produce up to 500 MWh of green electricity per year and prevent up to 500 tonnes of harmful CO2 emissions. At a highly competitive Levelized Cost of Electricity.
The company is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, and is represented in Norway, UK, USA, Singapore, and Ivory Coast.
About E2
About E2Based in California and Nevada, EnergyTwo (E2) LLC develops, integrates and installs clean energy systems for homes and businesses. E2 is the inventor of the E2PowerPad, the world’s first clean energy studio to charge electric vehicles (EVs) so they can run on the power of the sun. The company has fused an ecosystem of electric mobility manufacturers, renewable energy, finance options, and capital solutions to accelerate safe and efficient on-site power generation, charging, and storage. The E2 mission is to foster resiliency from fossil fuels, the grid, emergencies, power shut-offs and future utility rate hikes while building self-sustaining communities.
